Sayyeshaa Saigal is an Indian actor who made her acting debut with the Telugu movie Akhil - The Power of Jua in 2015. Following her debut, she was seen in the Ajay Devgn-starrer Shivaay in 2016, making her Bollywood debut.
Early LifeDaughter of Sumeet Saigal and Shaheen Banu on the 12th of August, 1997 in Mumbai, Sayyeshaa is the grandniece of Bollywoods Tragedy King Dilip Kumar and his wife Saira Banu. Sayyeshaa studied in England but returned to India after completing her fifth grade, and then went on to study at Mumbais Ecole Mondiale World School. While in London, she began her formal training in the Latin-American form of dancing at the age of ten. Given that she was always drawn to music and dance, she traveled to Rio De Janiero and South Africa for an intensive dance training. Sayyeshaa has also learnt the Indian classical dance forms such as Odissi and Kathak along with other forms like hip-hop and belly dancing.
Acting CareerSayyeshaa made her acting debut at the age of eighteen in V. V. Vinayaks Telugu fantasy drama Akhil - The Power of Jua in 2015, co-starring Akkineni Akhil. Her debut movie opened to positive reviews and raked in about 20 crores INR on its opening weekend. Following the commercial success of her first movie, Sayyeshaa made her Bollywood debut in the Ajay Devgn-directed and co-produced Shivaay in 2016, which co-stars Ajay Devgn and Erika Kaar. The film got mixed to positive reviews with Bollywood Hungama stating, Shivaay is a perfect emotional thriller that scores high on the account of its breathtaking visuals, amazing action and a high octane performance. It ran for more than 50 days across various cinemas and it also won the Best Special Effects Award at the 65th National Film Award in 2017. Her 2017 release includes the Tamil-language action adventure film Vanamagan, which is written and directed by A.L. Vijay. The film, which also stars Jayam Ravi in the lead role is said to be the unofficial remake of the Hollywood film Tarzan (1999).
