Ser'Darius's passion for acting started at the age of 12 when he helped his mother, an English teacher, to write a play and then played the lead role in it. He continued acting, something which he claims helped him overcome his shyness. He eventually got into the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts where he met his agent. After graduation, he began to look for work in films. He made his debut in 2009 through a short film named Sucker Punch. In the 2011 remake of Footloose, he played a role in his first feature film. He continued to get small roles in well known movies like Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) and Camp X-Ray (2014). In 2017 he got his big break when he played Anthony 'Fridge' Johnson in Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle. His other appearances include the movie's sequel Jumanji: The Next Level (2019) and The Last Full Measure (2020).
