Shah Rukh Khan is an Indian film actor, producer, singer, and television host. He has worked in more than 80 movies, which have won him innumerable awards, including 14 Filmfare awards and fans all over the world. He always had a keen interest in theater and was a part of street plays in his youth. He then made his television debut with Fauji in 1989 and Bollywood debut with Deewana in 1992. He is the co-chairperson of motion picture production house Red Chillies Entertainment with his wife, Gauri Khan. He also co-owns Kolkata Knight Riders, also known as KKR, an Indian Premier League team, with Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta. He has been honored for his philanthropic work in the field of education, health care, and disaster relief. In 2015, he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Edinburgh for his contribution to the film industry and philanthropic endeavors. In 2008, Newsweek included him in their list of fifty most powerful people in the world. Shah Rukh Khan is often referred to as King Khan, King of Bollywood and Brand SRK.
