Sri Lankan actress Veena Jayakody made her foray into the film industry in 1979 with the Sinhalese drama Minisun Athara Minihek, following which she went on to appear in a string of movies such as Muwan Palassa, Sagarayak Meda, Keli Madala, and Pawana Ralu Viya to name a few. Mostly seen playing supporting roles in recent times, Veena has also featured in a number of TV movies among which are Iqbal and Mother Teresa. Meanwhile, she continued to appear in movies and has movies such as Buongiorno Italia, Kusa-Paba, Motorbicycle, and Eka Dawasaka Api to her credit.
