Woody Harrelson is an American actor, who started his acting career with television shows. He is widely known for his portrayal of bartender Woody Boyd in the NBC sitcom Cheers, for which he won an Emmy Award. Woody also starred in several episodes of Will and Grace. He made his film debut in Wildcats (1986), consequent to which, he appeared in box-office hits White Men Can't Jump (1992) and Indecent Proposal (1993). Woody's career gained momentum after his brilliant portrayal of Larry Flynt in The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996), following which, he was seen in the war film The Thin Red Line (1999). His other notable works include Play It to the Bone (1999), Anger Management (2003), After the Sunset (2004), She Hate Me (2004), The Big White (2005) and A Scanner Darkly (2006). Woody also had a key role in the Oscar-winning crime thriller No Country for Old Men (2007) and The Messenger (2009). Later, he also starred in commercially successful films like Zombieland (2009), Friends with Benefits (2011), Now You See Me (2013) and The Hunger Games series. Apart from acting, Woody has also directed his theatrical works, Furthest from the Sun, The Rainmaker and The Late Henry Moss. He returned to television with the first season of the HBO crime series, True Detective starring alongside Matthew McConaughey. He was last seen in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014) and The Hunger Games : Mockingjay Part 2 (2015). His forthcoming film, Now You See Me 2, releases in theatres in June, 2016.
