She, however, left the writing assignment early for she felt that Pixar is ''a culture where women and people of color do not have an equal creative voice.''

Jones made her directorial debut in 2013 when she shot a music video for Sara Bareilles' song ''Brave''. In 2018 she appeared in ''Family Feud'' by Jay-Z and ''Nice for What'' by Drake. Rashida Jones is a big-hearted person who is known for her philanthropic efforts and in 2016 she visited a Syrian refugee camp in Lebanon. She has worked to promote Peace First, a nonprofit that teaches children to resolve conflict without violence. Jones has participated in Stand Up to Cancer events, EDUN and ONE. She was honorary chair of the annual Housing Works benefit, which fights AIDS and homelessness.
